Trimester 3 | Flash : Description for Assignment 3 (Musical Typography)

First of all, our group have choose "The Lazy Song" by Bruno Mars. This is one of the favourite song of three of us and we decide to use it as the song of the musical typography after several discussion. We choose this song because we think that it quite suit the thoughts of many peoples nowadays. Every of us just don't feel like doing anything and stay lazy. The heartfelt aspirations of many peoples. And the rhythm of the song is also nice and good to fill in with kinetic.

After that, we discuss together and decided to choose the chorus part of the song. The length of our video is 1 minute and Weefong had done the editing song part. Next, the song is divided into 3 stanza with 20 seconds for each and each of us to be in charge of each stanza. The divide of song and the lyrics are as follow :

Furthermore, we had set our color scheme. We decided to use Black, White, Blue, and Red color only so that the whole video will not look messy and the types can easily be seen. We are then started to do it in Adobe Flash with our own laptop and combine it later on.

Trimester 3 | Flash : The Making of Assignment 2

First of all, create a Flash file (ActionScript 3.0) with a stage of 320 x 240 and with 24 fps.

Import all the graphics that created before this using Photoshop into Library.

Drag the texture background that created when in assignment 1 using Adobe Photoshop into the stage and name the layer as "texture background".

Create a new layer and name it as "1". Drag the Number 1 symbol to the stage and create motion tween. Change the size and transparency of the symbol to make the fade in and zoom in effects.

Create a new layer and name it as "hope". Drag the "Hope" typo that created before in assignment 1 into the stage. F8 convert it to symbol then right click -- create motion tween to create the fly-in from the right effect.

Create another 2 layer and drag in the word "dream" and "nation". Repeat the step as above to create the same effect.

Move the "1" layer to the uppermost and drag all the 4 layers [1 , hope , dream, nation] to the upper-right corner and adjust the transparency of the typo to make the fade off effect. Open a new folder and drag all 4 layers into it and name the folder as "logo" .

Using Type tool to type out the words "People First Performance Now" on a new layer. Cut the center part of the words and paste it on another layer. Name one of them as "text_outer" and another one as "text_inner". Change the transparency of the words to and fro to show the flash of the words.

Create a new layer and name it as "flag". Drag the flag created with typo into the stage and convert it to symbol . Create a motion tween from the bottom-left corner and change the alpha channel (transparency ) of the flag to show the fade in and fly-in effect from the bottom-left corner .

Create 3 new layers and name them as  "words background" , "hibiscus_1", and "hibiscus_2 ".  Drag the typo background to the "words background" layer and create a fade-in effect motion tween. Then, drag the hibiscus vector image that created using Adobe Illustrator in assignment 1 to the stage. Copy and paste few more and arrange them nicely in composition. Separate the hibiscus into 2 side [ left and right ] onto the 2 layers. Create motion tween to both layer to show the hibiscus gather at the center of the stage by moving into from left and right. Change the transparency to show fade-in effect.

Break the white brush that we use in assignment 1 into 2 and import to the stage but in 2 different layer. Name the 2 layers as "brush_left" and "brush_right" . Create motion tween and drag the left part move from the left to the center and the right side from the right to center and combine two become one complete brush. Adjust the transparency as well.

Open another new folder and name it as "final background" and drag the 5 layers [ words background, hibiscus_1, hibiscus_2, brush_left and brush_right] into it.

Create a new layer and name it as "maps".Drag the Malaysia map create using typo before this into the stage. Create motion tween. Change the size of the maps from bigger to smaller and the transparency from  40% to 100% to show the fade-in and zoom out effects. Arrange it onto the white brush and place it nicely in a suitable place.

Copy the logo we created before this and paste in place onto a new layer name "Logo". Right-click -- create motion tween.Changing the transparency of the logo begin with 55% and end with 100%. Drag it from upper-left to the center of the white brush and make it bigger in the end.

Create new layer and name it as "slogan". Drag the Malaysia-flag-like color slogan that using in assignment into the stage and create a zoom-in motion tween effect. Change the brightness of the slogan begin with -62% and end with 100%.

The last step is to make stop the looping. Create a new layer name it as "stop" and press F6 at the last timeline to insert keyframe . Then , press F9 to open the Actions frame and key in stop(); actionscript.

Finally, the assignment 2 is DONE !
